Tricare insurance is great for families! The coverage is great and there are multiple options. The service member is fully covered for all medical and dental without additional costs but the family members covered may have to pay small fees and co pays.

The overall healthcare is pretty good in the army. However there is a high turnover rate of army primary care providers.

Healthcare issues will often be handled at the lowest level first, starting with unit medics and unit Physician Assistants (PA). The PA will then refer you to the correct specialist if his care isn't adequate to solve your problems.

The health insurance is totally free. I have an excellent personal relationship with my PA and can be seen within 24 hours of having any issue.

there are a variety of plans for eligible family members but really no options for service members. I feel this practice should change. Service members should have the same right to seek care outside the military as the average person.
