The best job training I have ever had. They don't just sit you in front of a computer and you watch videos forever.

As a property adjuster, USAA pays you normal salary during the duration of your entire training (4-6months).
USAA pays for licensing in all states as well as the licensing exam to become a claims adjuster.
Training is broken down into 4 steps:
1) NEO: New employee orientation. Training on company values, company history, military affiliation, military jargon, benefits package, employee introduction.
2) IPAT: Property adjuster training. Learning the basics about processing claims and learning the claims portal system. Shadowing calls takes place during this part of training where you shadow seasoned employees on live calls. Here you learn to express empathy and scope losses for information.
3) Licensing: Claims adjuster licensing classes and certification. You have 3 attempts to pass a licensing test and are provided with textbook materials to review. This is where you learn to read and interpret contacts and apply them in a claims environment.
4. NET: This is where the training wheels come off. The day is blending between PowerPoint instruction on specific types of claims and live calls. You are taking live inbound calls and have instructors at your disposal to assist you during live calls if you have any questions.
Exit: Training is over. You are now taking live calls without guidance or assistance.

The worst thing is that there are a lot of technology issues at this company that they’re trying to iron out: internet speed, computer problems, etc.

USAA could use in the Total Loss department a standard operating procedure. You are taught the basics of settling a claim but so much more is needed & it seemed because the department was always in complete disorganization that a lot of opportunities were missed to train correctly.
