Although the outcome of the interview process was not what I had hoped for, I appreciate the opportunity to have interviewed with Garner. As a referral of a current employee, I was excited to learn more about the company and its culture going in. The interview process was efficient, with prompt follow-up on my application and scheduling of initial interviews. I received positive feedback after the second round interview and was pleased to be selected to move on to the third round. Twenty-four hours after scheduling my third interview, I received an email that filling this position had been put on hold due to hiring a new Chief People Officer. I understand that the team wanted the new manager of this position to be involved in filling it, so it made sense to me at the time. We decided to reevaluate in a few weeks to see how things were going. When I followed up almost a month later, the hiring team had insufficient information to update me. They were much slower to reply this time and kept pushing off the update. Two weeks passed after my follow-up, and it was very disappointing to learn that the position had been filled by someone from the CPO's former company without even giving me a chance to interview again. Overall, I enjoyed interacting with the various team members I met throughout the process. While I understand that the hiring process can be complex, Garner has quite a bit of room to improve. As someone passionate about HR, I would have been excited to contribute to this effort had I been selected for the position.
