I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Lumen in Oct 2021
Interview
Just completed the recorded interview, so I have yet to hear if I am moving forward.
They seem to make everyone who submits an application for any position complete a one-way video interview (judging by the fact that I received the interview link at the exact same time as the "application received" email).
I think this type of interview is dehumanizing in general, but to make candidates prepare for and record an interview before the company has even reviewed applications (and a human might not even look at your application) is extremely disrespectful of candidates' time.
Moreover, the one-way video interview questions are not tailored to any position, they are obviously the same questions for every position. It is a series of 7 behavioral questions. You have 30 seconds to prepare to answer, one minute to answer, and one chance to answer each question. Even in real life there is more flexibility if you need time to think of an answer, but in this case you'd better know within 30 seconds.
After that I had two "games." I don't know if these were selected for my position or not, but they were not remotely relevant to it. One game requires you to select matching shapes, and the other is a memory/math game.
I have done one-way video interviews before, and as dehumanizing as they are, at least other employers actually review applications before asking for them, and have questions that are relevant to the position.
This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I do not particularly have any desire to work for Lumen now.

I applied online. I interviewed at Lumen (Boulder, CO)
Interview
Hirevue standard interview questions in recorded video format, followed by interview with HR also very standard, followed by more personal interview with the team I would be working under to understand you as a person and your problem solving abilities, I recommend making sure you know a lot about Lumen for the final interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell us about a time you struggled and how you overcame it
he interview process involves application review, screening, technical or behavioral assessments, panel or one-on-one interviews, and final evaluations to assess skills, culture fit, and readiness before extending an offer.
hackathon is conducted for those who selected in mcq based test
and they announce top 5 teams in the same day itself
and they announce who are selected for the next day interviews
I received a HireVue, which consisted of 8 back-to-back questions. I'm not sure if anyone actually looked at it, because I received a rejection email back within 10 minutes and it seemed auto-generated.
