I went to my school's career fair and from there I got an email inviting me to a Macy's networking meeting. Basically previous store managers and current people in the program come in and talk about the program and answer any questions. From there you will be selected for an interview time. The day before the interview you will be asked to attend a information session just to meet the people who will be interviewing you and ask more questions. The first interview process is 2 parts. The first is a 30 minutes interview with behavioral questions, then a 25-30 minutes coaching activity asking just giving different scenarios about workers and if you were a store manager what would you do.
Give Macy's about a week, and they will call you saying you have moved on to the next round of interviews. For Michigan candidates, you will be asked to fly to St.Louis, Missouri(reimbursement after completion of trip). It is a two-day event. First day is just getting to the hotel, an overview of the program and speakers and dinners with them. The second day is the real test. You have two personal 30 minute interviews, one group activity, and another group activity however you work independently but present your ideas to your group. After that give them about two-three weeks to get back to you.
I did not receive an offer, however it was truly a great experience and fun! Even though I did not get the job, I met wonderful people and it was an honor to be selected from thousands of students to participate in 2nd round interviews.
