I applied online. I interviewed at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) in Nov 2020
Interview
I interviewed during Covid, so my interview took place on Skype business.
1-hour with recruiter
1.5-hour with Nurse Manager of floor + manager of another floor
The first part of the interview was mostly clerical information. He told me about the job, the area, the onboarding process if I were to accept a possible job offer. Then he asked me one behavioral interview question and one clinical reasoning question. He gave me very in depth feedback to both and even helped me prepare a bit for the second part of my interview.
The interview with the nurse managers were a couple questions about me and my career goals and why I wanted to come to Mayo and that unit specifically. Then lots of behavioral interview questions, then three clinical reasoning questions.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
The managers gave me four patient "assignments" and asked who would I go assess first and what I would do.
Got interviewed by the nurse manager. It took her 30 mins to do her presentation about Mayo clinic and department, and the next 30 mins was for the interview part. There was also a quiz during that half hour. It was done via zoom. I found
Interview is via online, good pace, average questions not too difficult. You must log in online, you get 1 minute to think about your question And answer them as you see fit
Three interviews with the last one in person. Behavior based questions. The examples listed on here of the questions I found very accurate. I would definitely be prepared ahead of time.
