The interview process was by far the longest I've ever had in my working career. The process took a little more than 2 months with 4 stages! I was dedicated to the company, so I stayed through the whole thing, which now I see was a big mistake and waste of time.
The first part was a initial phone interview with a Corporate recruiter. It was chill and easy. After that was a phone interview with a manager. Another easy interview and good conversation. Next, was a panel zoom with 4 MANAGERS including the one that I just had an interview with. It was intense but I got through it. When the interview was over, they informed me to speak with my corporate recruiter to see if it's something I want to continue doing. WHY WOULD I NOT WANT TO GO FORWARD IF I MADE IT SO FAR!? IM OBVIOUSLY INTERESTED! I reached out to my recruiter and told him I'm still interested in continuing in the process.
Here is where it takes a turn for the worst. After 2 weeks of silence, I received an email of a 3 hour long Zoom Meet & Greet/Shadowing. AT THIS POINT OF THE PROCESS, I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE JOB YET! When I spoke to some of my friends and family about this, they recommended me not to do it without having the role yet and not being compensated. They highlighted that my time is valuable, and they are taking a lot of it with this. I ignored them and did it with me assuming that I practically got the job. However, at this point it's now 2 months, I'm unemployed and my bills are stacking up. The Meet & Greet consisted of me shadowing there Monday meeting. Afterwards, I had to speak to SEVEN team leads in 15-minute increments. It was just me getting to know them and vice versa. I really felt like part of the team now through all of this. After, I spoke with all the team leads, I debriefed the experience with the managers. I truly was expecting them to say that I got the job at the end. But they did not. ONCE AGAIN, THEY TOLD ME TO REACH OUT TO MY RECRUITER TO SEE IF IT'S SOMETHING I STILL WANT TO GO FORWARD IN DOING! OBVIOUSLY, I STILL AM! So, I reached out to my recruiter, and he told me he will speak with the managers.
After a 1 week and a half of silence I contacted the managers as to what was going on. A day later, my recruiter called me to inform that I did not get the role due to them saying I HAVE A LACK OF SALES EXPERIENCE! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! I WENT THROUGH 4 INTERVIEWS AND IN A SPAN OF 2 MONTHS I WASN'T AWARE THAT MY LACK OF SALES EXPERIENCE WAS AN ISSUE! WHY WOULD THEY MOVE ME SO ALONG SO FAR IN THE PROCESS!?
With my experience interviewing with Medical Solutions, it seemed as if their hiring process was VERY DISORGANIZED with a lack of communication. It's also my fault for sticking thick and thin with just this one company with such a lengthy interview process. I wish they would've just rejected me earlier on, however the managers strung me along all the way to the end and wasted 2 months of my time.
