After a short call with the recruiter, I advanced in the process by interviewing with a member of the product team. The interview feedback from the recruiter was positive so I was advanced to an in-person interview at their SF HQ.
The in-person interview consisted of a hellish panel that lasted 5+ hours and spanned 6 different people. During the interview I got the feeling that the hiring manager wasn't sure what she was looking for with the position because she wasn't able to really explain the role or its goals with me (that's a red flag).
5 days later, the recruiter told me that I was being passed up in favor of someone with more experience. I've since seen the position reposted on numerous job sites which leads me to believe the feedback I received was not entirely honest.
All-in-all, i would recommend anyone who is interviewing for a position to think long and hard before applying for a position so they can avoid a 6 hour interview with a clueless panel that was clearly just going through the motions and not seriously interested in hiring someone.
