In theory an internship with Nationwide would be great. They are very competitive and there are lots of benefits to gaining them. However, through my experience with their "Super Day" Interview, I would never want to work for them as an intern or full time employee. The overall interview process was exhausting but not too bad, there were four in person interviews and a phone interview. None of them are hard to do well in if you know your stuff. However, my problem with Nationwide is that they lack diversity on a level I have never seen in my life. I saw no women in high positions or minorities (latinos, blacks, etc). There were only Asians and Caucasians which is fine if you fall into that category, but if you don't it is very awkward. They don't mind letting you know that you stick out like a sore thumb either. By the time I got halfway through the process, I quit caring and just wanted to go home. In my opinion, there are much better companies that will pay more and are much more diverse. They should take a look at how Liberty Mutual does things --- now there's a REAL insurance company.
