The very first contact I made with NetSuite was on their website. After perusing their products and core values I thought, “this company would be a great place to work”. A few days after I applied for the position, a human resources manager contacted me for a brief 20-minute phone interview. We discussed basic screening topics such as relevant work experience, education, and why I was interested in the position. The recruiter was exceptionally thorough, and knowledgeable. Four days later, I was contacted to arrange an in-person interview in the San Mateo, CA office.
Despite my usual interview symptoms (heightened adrenaline and sweaty palms), my experience with NetSuite was fantastic. I met with the hiring manager, a marketing manager, and an intern. They were intelligent and passionate about their work. We not only discussed why I thought I was a good fit for the role, but we also explored my perspective. They asked questions such as what I would look for in a trade show, how I would handle securing media coverage, and my skill level working with analytics. I felt as though they were genuinely trying to get to know me. One tip I can offer: make sure you have a perspective. I had many questions on the current trends in technology and how I thought they could be useful.
The entire process took about two weeks: from initial phone interview to my start date.
