Did 2 phone screens first. Pretty standard with no real surprises. I was encourage initially in dealing with the recruiter. In doing my homework. there was a lot of negative feedback on the company from current and former clients. It is always difficult to determine what's accurate or not, but most of the feedback dealt with "hidden" fees, essentially boiling down to integrity and honesty.
I get passed to the next round. I do a video conference with a gentleman. Again, no surprises on the interview questions. Seemed like a real decent guy who had been with the company for a number of years. How do you motivate people? Strengths/Weaknesses. No surprises, a good conversation.
I get passed to the Area VP, seemed like decent guy, but brought up that he was 40. Not sure why? But, I get it, you're 10 years younger than I am, I have no problem reporting to someone older/younger, doesn't matter at all to me.
No surprises on this interview. Focus on sales, business development etc. We wrapped up in 90 minutes or so.
I followed up with the recruiter a week later. She tells me she will get back to me. An hour or so later, she responds with "we've hired someone who more closely fit the needs of the position". Ok, I get it, no problem. Two hours after that, the job is posted again. Huh? Why would you tell me you hired someone and then post it again? I understand and respect saying "We're going to continue our search to find someone who more closely fits the needs of the position". But to say you've hired someone and then immediately repost it seems to speak to their integrity, at least to me.
Perhaps the feedback I had read on the company about integrity and honesty was closer to home than I initially thought.
