I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Support.com in May 2013
Interview
A guy called and we did a phone interview where he asked various rudimentary semi technical questions like how would you get into a router from web browser? or how to find your ip address and what is wpa and wep and some other such questions. After that he had you run a program called Speccy on your computer and send him the stats of your pc to make sure it was up to par to runt he work software (ie enough ram and cpu power).
There was also a online quiz had to take doing basic math and some logic problems and tech questions to demonstrate you were capable of logical thinking and problem solving and looking up solutions on google as they highly praised google fu back then.

Question 1
What is WEP and why is it not recommended to use it over wpa?
I applied online and immediately received an email asking me to set up an interview time. the next day I had a recruiter call me at home. He was very upbeat and friendly. He asked me questions like, "Name a time when you had to deal w/ an irate customer. How did you handle it?", "How would you tell someone who has never used the internet to connect their wifi?",'In your own words, what is great customer service?". I can't remember them all but I do know that he asked a lot of technical questions about the internet obviously. Also, you have to be in front of your WORK pc during the interview. He had me look up the weather in some other country and to google a few more things-mostly just questions that require you to do some research. When he was finished he said that he would be in touch. An hour or 2 later he called back and told me I had been selected. He gave me some basic info about training which takes 6 weeks to complete and you do get paid for it,$8.50 per hour. By the last 2 weeks of training, Nesting, we were taking live calls.

Question 1
What do you consider to be great customer service?
The interview process required a computer test and a video interview. The computer test was not difficult for a person with adequate computer skills. The interview was nice and easy to talk to. The interview process was fast and hired me immediately.
