Toast Inc interview questions

these people are nuts - they insist on an 'aggressive' sales approach, but it's actually downright hostile. I knew 5 minutes into this interview I would be withdrawing from the process once the call was done. They want their sales people to badger clients and basically shame them into buying their product. The pandemic made them huge due to everyone needing an online 'to-go' ordering platform overnight, but all of my restaurant customers are still wary of increasing their business with them due to the very negative, bordering on unprofessional approach they have to sales. If you're an experienced salesperson who values customer relationships, and building trust and loyalty through service, avoid Toast.

Four rounds. Had to create a deck that was used in rounds 3 and 4. This is a difficult interview process, and they were a little unrealistic with the level of detail and expertise they expected in the deck, for a product that you do not currently sell, or have full knowledge on. Huge culture surrounding feedback. They seem to have a "type" they want to hire, and if you are not 100% in that type, you are not getting the job. They do not seem interested in helping train you up, but would rather you come in as you are. I was passed along all the way to the 4th round, hours and hours of prep and time out of the work day that were used for this interview process. The recruiter later told me it was a small detail in the 2nd round that counted me out of the running. Glad I was pushed all the way through.
