The recruiter showed up 5+ minutes late. Which seems to be a common theme. She then proceeded to go through a standard list of questions ending with “Your background doesn’t align with our role”.
This is a mystery to me because YOU scheduled the call after receiving MY resume.
I was then told I would be flagged for future opportunities… I’ll flag Toast as a place not to interview as their recruiters don’t know how to prepare for meetings nor know how to show up to meetings on time.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. This experience does not meet the standards we hold ourselves to at Toast, and I can imagine how frustrating it was for you. I will be sure to share this review with my team so that we can do better moving forward. If you have any additional feedback to share, please reach out to me directly on LinkedIn. - Aryca Parton, Director, Talent Acquisition
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
I felt very comfortable throughout the interview process. Pretty standard structure (recruiter screening, hiring manager phone calls, case study exercise) I made it to the case study where I was given example reps data and asked how I would use that data to manage the team. I did not get an offer. The best part was that I got specific feedback on why I did not get the offer and I was able to use that feedback in interviews with other companies. I was highly impressed by this. Not only did it help me immensely but I felt as if my time was respected and I was valued as an interview candidate. Also because of this, I am completely open to interviewing with Toast again in the future should a better fitting opportunity arise.
I applied online. I interviewed at Toast Inc (New York, NY) in Feb 2021
Interview
After submitting my resume, an interview was scheduled. We had a 30 minute question and answer call. The interviewer asked the usual questions about my past experience, knowledge of the company and salesmanship.
