I had a 90 minute interview with what would have been my boss.
She was enthusiastic and forward speaking. I have 13 years experience, beyond adequate for this position (the job required is a minimum of 7 years experience). But she did have to run me past her male colleague (whom I knew).
I had a few concerns based on a few things she shared with me and a couple of questions she asked.
A week later, after an entire day of phone tag, I received a call back from my interviewer.
It was an uncomfortable call. She bumbled around with her excuses as to why I now wasn't a good candidate. She stated she was going to pursue other candidate with more experience. Huh?
During our interview she had mentioned a lack of viable credit analysts in the area).
She said I now didn't have enough experience.
Clearly she wasn't being truthful because I just saw the job re-posted three days ago with a recruiter and on a job site.
What was the point in calling if she wasn't willing to be honest? She could have sent a simple email or generic letter.
I'm going to assume that the male colleague, whom I worked with years previously, didn't approve. You see, he stood by our old boss, whom I outed for sexual harassment against 5 women, including a sexual assault on myself. Clearly he holds a personal grudge towards me about this.
I literally feel violated again.
After this entire experience I'm not only disappointed but disgusted.
I'm actually glad it worked out the way it did. Clearly we have different values.
