The Veteran ALLYs Employee Resource Group celebrated its focus month throughout November with learning events, celebrations, and community outreach. The month included a series of conversations spotlighting the different branches of the military, a paracord bracelet event, and many other sessions. The Ally teammates also joined more than 2,000 participants in the Charlotte Veterans Day Parade to show their support. At Ally, we're committed to doing our part toward building a more sustainable future. Recent renovations at our Lewisville, Texas office include a 25% more efficient HVAC system, a centralized trash and composting program, and solar panels for our parking lot that can offset nearly 90% of the building's power. We also incorporated native species into the landscape redesign and water-efficient irrigation system to attract pollinators and reduce water usage. These initiatives not only help minimize our environmental footprint but also further our focus on creating healthy workplaces. Let’s hear it for the students from Spelman College! The team won first place in the 7th annual Moguls in the Making entrepreneurial pitch competition, securing $20,000 scholarships each. Their innovative idea, Prospera, creates an ecosystem that builds up women-owned small businesses, increasing economic mobility in Detroit and beyond. The winning team will be featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Sept. 25 to share their experience and winning concept. The competition was hosted in collaboration with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and brought together 50 students from 10 HBCUs to develop solutions for economic mobility challenges in Detroit. The event included motivational messages from industry leaders, workshops, and mentorship from Detroit’s business community, providing invaluable early business experience for future leaders.
