Pros

Hotel discounts.. That's about it.

Cons

No life to work balance, rude upper management, poor role models, no capital funding for hotel projects, poor bonus structure, trash talk about everything. Lots of gossip between managers and it never stops.

Pros

Line Level Staff is what makes hotels run. They work as a team despite the management. Hotel discounts are nice.

Cons

Corporate Management micro manages and has no idea how to operate hotels properly. They should know how to do everything they expect staff to do.

Pros

The managers mean well... At first.

Cons

I would not recommend remaining with aimbridge if your marriot hotel is transitioning. Not only do the policies and values of aimbridge differ from those held by the marriot, but the management style held by aimbridge is ineffective, detrimental, and at times unprofessional. Aimbridge does not carry the same integrity or values under which Marriott trains their employees. The aimbridge leadership team uses intimidation and bullying tactics to push the department head into reaching goals. When goals are reached and successes are achieved, management does not give credit to individuals or even give acknowledgment for employees' dedication, passion, and hard work; however, aimbridge does not hesitate to address every minor mistake made. They do not carry the policy Marriott put in place to ensure consistency including position specific training and employee professional development. Numerous examples show unprofessionalism and inconsistencies including, singling out and reprimanding one employee, who was unpopular with management, for a mistake, while similar mistakes by others went unaddressed. When an employee went to HR to report a complaint, HR proceeded to violate assumed confidentiality, identify the employee and recount the information to that specific manager being reported, resulting in the manager confronting the employee in a verbally aggressive manner. The lack of confidentiality, team like environment, and unprofessionalism breeds mistrust and potentially affects the ability of employees to complete tasks effectively. If your hotel is being transitioned from marriott corporate to franchise with aimbridge, run. I didn't leave and decided to give the transition a chance, despite the reviews I read. If given the change to do it over, I would have left before the transition.
