Pros

Brother is genuinely one of the best companies I’ve worked for. The culture is welcoming, collaborative, and people at every level of the organization are approachable, including senior leadership and executives. It’s rare to find a company where employees feel both supported professionally and valued personally. One thing that stands out immediately is how many people have built long careers here. That says a lot about the environment and the way employees are treated. There’s a strong sense of stability, respect, and teamwork across departments. The company also does a great job recognizing hard work and giving employees opportunities to grow. If you are willing to take initiative, go the extra mile, and contribute ideas, leadership notices and appreciates it. I’ve had the chance to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with talented teams, and feel empowered to make an impact early on. Overall, Brother has a people-first culture that combines professionalism with a genuinely supportive atmosphere, which makes it a great place to build a career.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

The company is competitive as far as salary and benefits go. If you present a vision for yourself and the career path you want to take as well as make sure you keep upper managements goals in mind while presenting your vision you can achieve your goals. Most employees are lifers which Brother encourages and seeks out in order to maintain a "family' atmosphere. If you do good work and are a go getter you will stand out and be recognized and rewarded. The company is doing well and very stable.

Cons

The company is having serious growing pains and identity issues as they find themselves boxed into the printer and sewing categories of womcumer electronics and not doing much in terms of finding new product categories. Coupled with the shift from big box retailers to online .com resellers. They have replaced their entire HR staff which is outnofntouch with the history and DNA of the company while there is serious cronyism among the new HR staff. Add to that, their old brothers club board of directors can't be touched and there are major conflicts of interest as some maintain multiple job titles across divisions. Some senior executives get away with making sexist remarks, offensive jokes, downright belittling some of their employees while that same executive enforces rules on others that aren't followed themselves. All in all as long as you make said executive look good and allow all your work flow through them you will be taken care of and compensated for your work. And at times be reminded how well you are compensated. The company is in the process of catching up with the 21st century as far as best practices and technology that employees need to be productive like many other companies enjoy and have enjoyed for some time. Upper management has a very bottom up approach to change meaning there is very little change being sponsored from the top brass albeit they talk alot about how they aspire to drive more change delm the top down but do very little to actually listen to the employees about what changes are truly needed. Much of the change being sponsored by upper management is too little and too late especially for a company who takes very long to implement things in general. As a result, while HR speaks of recruiting top talent, much of the top employees are leaving the company or have left already leaving a large gap in terms of succession planning and 'passing the torch' to keep things fluid.

Pros

Stable job, steady pay and good benefits.

Cons

This a company managed by old people for old people that are set in their ways and resistant to change. The company is making so called changes but these changes are being felt more by the lower level employees while the senior management continues to stay in their cushy jobs. They refuse to encourage the young and dynamic workforce. Instead their potential is wasted on menial tasks at a time when they should be learning new skill sets. There is absolutely no opportunity to be creative or grow unless you are a yes man. They are finally starting to get some women in senior manager roles but none of the existing women employees have been empowered or encouraged to grow. The company lacks any diversity, in today's day and age this is hard to believe but it's a fact. The upper management has only white obnoxious men. Working here will only limit your career growth because you will be stuck doing the same thing under managers that hate their jobs and make you miserable. There is no trust within team members and there is no delegtation. Getting promoted after 5 years in the same job is considered normal and ambitious people loose their motivation over a period of time. Young people if any new ones that are hired are either related or friends with the bosses which in the long term creates an unfair work environment.
