Pros

Free Red Bull They only hire attractive women

Cons

Oh lord. Where do I begin? This was supposed to be the "Silicon Valley" of Tampa. It is anything but that. The pay is on average 30% lower than anywhere else. Managers were all promoted from different departments, and have zero management experience. There is more focus on company image than anything else. Arnie the CEO has a monthly "TV Show" that everyone is forced to watch in order to swallow the company line. Literally hundreds of hours of manpower is wasted for no good reason. Employees have to time themselves while at their desk. Managers spend more time checking timers than checking your work. The developers lack skill, knowledge, and talent. The quality of the software has taken a nose dive in a forced attempt to combine four different products into one. Alcoholism is rampant, with managers being visibly inebriated in front of everyone. The CEO is slowly losing his grip on reality. They renamed "HR" to "Talent". The core values changed because one of the senior managers had a temper tantrum. Managers openly harrass women and openly cheat on their wives. Kissing up to managers is encouraged and rewarded. This company takes advantage of college graduates that don't know what it's like to work at a respectable organization. ConnectWise has lost its way.

Pros

Six months ago I was singing positive phrases and would have highly recommended Connectwise. They really seemed to be going somewhere. While there is potential to be a good organization, some changes have to be made it they are to continue to be a desirable company to work for.

Cons

The finance department is in total shambles. They have had 3 CFO's since January. The current one is very much into micro-managing, he excludes key personnel from meetings, gives 'work' to grossly unqualified colleagues and blows off meetings with no notice. He posted a position for a controller but didn't announce it to the finance group. Is it true that this was done so that only the 'chosen' person could apply? (one that is very much NOT qualified and very much not liked). What a joke. There is a huge divide in the finance department. Old colleagues are pitted against the 'new' ones that have been hired in the last year - there is no team unity here. There were complaints about the previous management in finance, but they were far better than what is in place now. This is not the up and coming company that it was 6 months ago. How disappointing.

Pros

Historically, this was a valuable place to build a career in systems and engineering, fostering a culture of technical depth and mentorship. The company maintained a strong, dedicated core workforce and provided genuine opportunities for learning.

Cons

The transition under the new CEO with Private Equity mandate has been a systematic liquidation of company value. The focus is exclusively on short-term financial extraction, resulting in severe organizational chaos. We have seen relentless, strategic dismantling: leadership turnover every six months, arbitrary shifts in goals, and escalating workloads placed on employees with zero corresponding pay raises or growth opportunities. This instability is coupled with aggressive cost-cutting measures, including significant layoffs and the transfer of core functions to offshore locations (specifically India) for inferior, cheaper backfills. This approach sacrifices internal expertise, product quality, and domestic customer support for negligible quarterly savings. This is not a company in transition; it is a company being prepared for final divestiture. Go work somewhere else. This environment is a career dead end with minimal remaining institutional knowledge.
