Pros

Chatham is a solid company with talented people and meaningful work. For the first several years of my time there, I worked under strong managers who trusted their teams, encouraged collaboration, and allowed engineers to operate with autonomy. The culture during that period was supportive, and I felt enabled to do high-quality, impactful work. Overall, the company has a strong foundation and many capable individuals.

Cons

After a reorganization introduced a new QA Manager and Director structure, the experience within QA declined. QA Leadership became highly control-driven, with frequent micromanagement, rigid processes, and an excessive focus on compliance rather than outcomes. Decision-making became centralized, autonomy was reduced, and day-to-day work felt constrained. This shift negatively affected morale, engagement, and overall effectiveness within the QA function.

Pros

One of the best parts about working at this company is the opportunity to learn across different functions and gain exposure to a wide range of projects. The environment allows employees to develop both technical and professional skills quickly, especially through collaboration with experienced team members. I also appreciate the fast-paced culture, which encourages growth, adaptability, and problem-solving. The experience has helped me better understand operations, teamwork, and how different parts of the business work together.

Cons

One challenge of working at the company is that there can sometimes be a heavy amount of operational and repetitive work, which may limit opportunities to focus on more strategic or analytical projects. In certain situations, processes and responsibilities could be better organized to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary workload. Communication between teams can also occasionally be unclear, leading to duplicated efforts or delays. Improving workflow structure could help employees be more productive and engaged.
