Upon getting hired you could tell the company did not have the right processes put into play or know what they were doing, probably due to such fast expansion and growth. As employees we learned to adjust, most times being told by leadership that better ways of working are coming. With the UK leadership being most of Ben Francis’s buddies, all of them are inexperienced in knowing how to run a global business. Most of them have never worked anywhere else and would get eaten alive at any other successful company. They constantly made crazy and impulsive business decisions that impacted everyone’s work. That being said, everyone in the North American office worked to produce positive results despite the constant pivots. A lot of the decisions made by our UK counterparts were not in benefit of the North American business. The culture is very different and UK leadership clearly does not understand how to strongly capture the US consumer without having a North American voice. I can almost guarantee that the business will not stand a chance with competitors like Nike, Adidas, Alo Yoga, etc. now that they are closing their North American headquarters that was a little over 2 years old.
