Pros

-Tuition reimbursement! Best thing about this place. -Wonderful staff excluding mid-/upper- level management/physicians. Many of the medical residents are great, though.

Cons

-Corporately-run hospital, profit-driven, major donors are Koch brothers -Not racially- or gender-diverse in mid or upper level management and medical staff (overwhelmingly white, male, and wealthy) -Completely out of touch with issues of patient population outside of the 1% -Caters to ultra-wealthy, athletes, and those referred by employees -Does not support employee physical or mental health concerns (remember, this is a hospital) -Inappropriate comments from physicians and upper management staff - includes racially-insensitive and -prejudiced comments, gender discrimination. These types of comments flourish in a culture supported by the hospital (comfortable atmosphere if your'e rich, white, and not engaged in these issues) -Inappropriate comments from patients that are supported, even encouraged, by medical staff and upper management -Management staff in general lacks advanced degrees/higher education beyond Bachelors' and/or formal/appropriate management training (many have reached their positions just by their mere presence in growing areas of the hospital)

Pros

Great organization, awesome team to work for, and the hours are good, hybrid schedules for some positions, learning and growing, management is good with listening and advising

Cons

The organization went thru a transition and it is continuing to transition into a POD system utilizing call center technology which makes its stressful some times to keep up with all the changes happening.

Pros

Patients arent usually as sick as they are in other hospitals, they try to be transparent about decision making, lots of communication from C suite execs disseminated throughout hospital. You meet cool people, patients are usually high class, and you get to watch people get better and go home.

Cons

The overall vibe of the hospital on the ground is that we dont have money (even though they do), and they would prefer to keep things status quo. The CEO i think is a visionary trying to change things, but there are so many people who just lack a growth mentality. They love to talk about being the #1 ortho hospital, but things here are honestly quite ghetto in comparison to other hospitals. It has a mom and pop feel about it wrapped up stylized branding. As far as surgery goes, most of the surgeons are excellent, but as a nurse here, it feels more bleak than it needs to. The hospital needs to focus on building a healthy culture from the ground up, but they are focused on finances above all.
