Pros

It's a job and everyone should have one.

Cons

Horrible company to work for. They are terrible at follow up. Their Human Resources department is rude as can be, never knows what they are talking about, and they complicate everything. They all work in silo's and there is no communication between departments, but they will tell you there is. Most of the employees are contractors and they give them no respect. They will lie to you and tell you that you get XX paid days off, then you will start the job to find out there are "family days" that the military has that are not included in the contracted holidays, since you are a contractor, you are required to take them off WITHOUT PAY or you can use your PTO time and have it as a forced vacation day and waste a vacation day on them. You can plan on emailing them and never hearing back from them. They will tell you things are taken care of, that never are.

Pros

Good opportunity for growth and gaining experience in a professional environment. Team members are generally supportive and willing to help when needed. There are opportunities to learn new skills and take on more responsibility over time. Work environment is fairly stable and expectations are reasonable.

Cons

Some processes can be unclear or inconsistent depending on the team. Communication can vary, which sometimes leads to confusion or delays. Certain workflows could benefit from better organization and structure.

Pros

The C&P process is rewarding and an opportunity to make a difference. Flexible and intellectually interesting.

Cons

This is not about C&Ps but about the absolute dysfunction of every part of their administrative systems. Exams are reviewed by people who truly do not understand the VAs process and it is very frustrating.
