Pros

I love working with Veterans! And I was ready to be done with direct patient care and seeing the same people on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. Here I see the Veteran usually just once, and just the fact that I can possibly help them makes me very happy. I also enjoy that here I can work full-time with benefits and Federal holidays vs. working in a contracted position which is what a lot of companies like this do. Also, upper management actually visits most of the offices once a year and they really do seem to care. I wasn't sure how it would feel going corporate, but honestly it does feel like they have my back.

Cons

It's a new company, so there are some growing pains, but not any more than expected. I'm really very happy working with LSGS!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're grateful for your dedication to serving Veterans and are happy to support you in work that is so meaningful. It's wonderful to hear that the opportunity to step away from direct patient care, while still making a positive impact, has been fulfilling for you. We're also glad you've found value in our full-time roles, benefits, and support from leadership. Your feedback reinforces that we're building a culture where employees feel supported and backed by leadership. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to learn, evolve, and improve. Thank you for being part of the growth. We look forward to continuing this journey together!

Pros

This place is desperate to hire so if you need health insurance or have no other options it’s a corporate job that is a good place to start so you know what you don’t want in a future employer. It’s really good at helping you find out what kind of behavior and operational failures you’ll be willing to tolerate. They do a lot of community activism which is great but it doesn’t mean the job is any more tolerable. They’ll spend thousands on a “wellness day” for gift cards raffles and b12 shots, but you’re lucky to get a desk or chair that isn’t falling apart, and they don’t provide keyboards so have fun typing on your itty bitty laptop.

Cons

Everything. Seriously. As much as they like to pretend like it’s a big family their turnover is insane. At the beginning of the company they grew really fast meaning everyone was promoted to areas they know nothing about with zero management or leadership skills. Since all of them have this big ego no one holds each other accountable so failures get swept under the rug at best or most commonly blamed on the team that supports them. Every manager complains about other teams so there’s an undercurrent of animosity towards each other that they leverage for their competitive team bonding stuff which is mostly athletic based. All of the leaders are complacent with the problems and most of them have no idea what the actual experience for a provider or veteran is like with their services. They are not working managers. Gossip and politics are hugely influential here, and management will be stricter with rules etc if they decide they don’t like you. You can find some truly wonderful kind-hearted people but the environment will find a way to make you choose between your friendships, your morals, and your paycheck.
