Pros

Benefits start immediately, tons of time off

Cons

You'll work overtime every week, and the benefits aren't very competitive nowadays. Employees are abusing the time off I just mentioned because they don't want to be there.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience at Scott Credit Union. Employee surveys are an integral part of our improvement process as they are one of the many tools utilized to determine what improvements can be made. We have made several changes based on survey results and will continue to utilize survey data to enhance the employee experience. Growing the branch network is an important part of strategy and allows us to carry out the people-helping-people philosophy to our members, improving their financial well-being. We strive to offer a work/life balance for our employees as we understand that rested employees are happy employees. As we continue to grow, we may experience times of transition where employees are asked to work beyond their normally scheduled hours, however our end goal is to always ensure our employees work a reasonable, predictable schedule. Providing fun outlets that allow employees a break from work, such as free food or prizes, are meant to be a positive reminder to our employees that we care about their experience and appreciate their hard work and dedication to Scott Credit Union. I am disappointed to read that your experience did not meet our standards, however I appreciate the feedback. Vice President of Human Resources

Pros

SCU truly believes in its mission, vision, and values. They have a major impact on the communities they serve through Surprise Squad and the volunteer work they do. There are lots of positive changes in the works for members and employees alike.

Cons

My time with the company started off strong, but the last six months became extremely difficult due to poor leadership. Despite repeatedly asking for support and clarity around expectations, leadership consistently failed to provide either. Requests for help were ignored, and I was eventually terminated for “performance” reasons—despite being reassured previously that my job was not at risk. The manager, who was the CIO, demonstrated favoritism when assigning workloads, had me managing 13 projects while other project managers handled 7–8. He (the CIO) also frequently expressed negative views on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which created an unprofessional and discouraging environment. Because my manager was the CIO, there was no real avenue to raise these concerns or seek protection. Ultimately, the lack of communication, fairness, and accountability left me feeling unsupported and blindsided.
