Thank you for taking the time to write Scott Credit Union a review on Glassdoor. It is important for us to hear what we are doing well and what we need to improve upon. We are not happy that your experience working here has been unsatisfactory and means that in your case, we have failed somewhere along the line. Since you are a current team member at Scott Credit Union, I would urge you to come and see me, our Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), or our CEO to discuss these concerns in person. I assure you; we can work towards some resolutions. The Human Resources Department is committed to SCU’s top priority: Our Employees, therefore I am sorry you feel you cannot voice your concerns to me or my team. Again, I urge you to reach out so we may schedule a time for you and either myself, the CHRO, or the CEO to discuss your concerns further. If you do not feel comfortable speaking in person, we encourage you to utilize the anonymous hotline. Vice President of Human Resources

Pros

SCU truly believes in its mission, vision, and values. They have a major impact on the communities they serve through Surprise Squad and the volunteer work they do. There are lots of positive changes in the works for members and employees alike.

Cons

My time with the company started off strong, but the last six months became extremely difficult due to poor leadership. Despite repeatedly asking for support and clarity around expectations, leadership consistently failed to provide either. Requests for help were ignored, and I was eventually terminated for “performance” reasons—despite being reassured previously that my job was not at risk. The manager, who was the CIO, demonstrated favoritism when assigning workloads, had me managing 13 projects while other project managers handled 7–8. He (the CIO) also frequently expressed negative views on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which created an unprofessional and discouraging environment. Because my manager was the CIO, there was no real avenue to raise these concerns or seek protection. Ultimately, the lack of communication, fairness, and accountability left me feeling unsupported and blindsided.
