Pros

There are wonderful programs that benefit the patients as well as the families. The hospital staff work well together as a team and for the most part it is a friendly place to work.

Cons

Management is often the cause of a lot of tension in the work place due to inadequate communication skills with the staff. The miscommunication ranges from contributing unwarranted input on patients they are not familiar with to sweeping obvious staff retention issues under the rug. There is also an air of mistrust that causes a lot of perception problems and often forced resignation or termination of a staff member which increases the staff retention issue - it's a vicious cycle that upper management is hopefully taking note of in their assessment of the hospital's programs.

Pros

Tight knit group of healthcare professionals that work together to provide the best care for patients. They cared very much and always worked hard (& paid extra money) to ensure the whole hospital is well staffed.

Cons

For me, it’s a long drive. Besides that, I had no complaints.

Pros

Salaries fair, decent healthcare benefits, relaxed atmosphere

Cons

Terrible PDO policy (have to use PDO for holidays/sick leave/vacation)- salaried employees should not be forced to use their PDO for holidays when their department is closed (e.g. Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)!!! Poor leadership in certain departments due to zero knowledge of the area they oversee. Serious lack of diversity in senior level management positions and hospital board. HR says they have an open door, but do nothing to help you. Qualified workers are often passed over for positions they deserve for people a manager likes. IT department has a toxic work culture (male managers and directors often making rude comments about women, dismissive to female co-workers yet continue to get promoted and supported by HR & CEO)
