Pros
Really enjoy working with a dedicated group, with a mixture of young professionals and seasoned experts in their fields. Management is transparent and the company's communications with employees, and the benefits that are provided, are really great. What other company provides emergency childcare from White House Nannies? Or emergency pet care?! They hire really smart people for the long-term and have created an environment to make that possible.
There's a reason they've won the DC Best Places to Work Award twice!
Cons
There is no "corporate office". Most of us work from home or at a client site. So water-cooler-chat is done mainly through email, IM, and video chats. But this is worth it for the improved balance between work and home.

We actually do have a corporate office in DC but hardly anyone works there, by preference! We use the model of "management by output" rather than "management by observation". What you produce is far more important than turning up to an office and drudging in and out every day. But we also know that communication and camaraderie are essential ingredients to every workplace. That's why we have such strong employee engagement efforts, 2x annual "birthday/un-birthday" coffees with our Employee Happiness folks, TCG sprees, and much more. Thanks for your Positively Distinct review!
I worked as a Training Specialist supporting federal training initiatives and had a very positive experience overall. The organization maintained a professional and collaborative environment where leadership was approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in both customer success and employee support.
One of the company’s strengths was its ability to operate effectively within a complex federal environment while maintaining flexibility and strong communication across teams. Employees were trusted to take ownership of their responsibilities, and individuals who demonstrated initiative were often given opportunities to contribute beyond the boundaries of their formal roles.
The work was meaningful, team collaboration was strong, and management maintained professionalism during periods of organizational and contractual transition.
Cons
Cons
Like many federal contracting environments, long-term stability can sometimes be influenced by contract cycles and government funding timelines. Processes occasionally evolved during active projects, requiring adaptability from staff.
