Pros

Good office location Diverse team of coworkers Hybrid work setup (though the new ex-Amazon leadership may change this)

Cons

Compensation is not on par with market peers. Limited career growth for senior engineers - not an ideal place for experienced engineers to progress. Heavy reliance on AI is causing frequent issues, as management pushes more work with less time allocated for quality, treating AI as a silver bullet. The recently hired Amazon executive is introducing a more intense, high-pressure work culture. Significant decline in workplace culture in recent years. Management behavior has become increasingly Kafkaesque. Product leaders with strong domain expertise are now rare. Experienced product leaders are steadily leaving the company. Employee morale is low. Strong performers are leaving on a regular basis.

Pros

- The co workers i had were some of the best I've ever worked with. The everyday people you work with here are amazing. - Good work life balance is heavily encouraged. - The work helps people in real and meaningful ways. - Benefits were nice.

Cons

*Perspective is of working in the acute & payer (ie, A&P) department. - Management is just straight up terrible. - There is no clear vision for the product - Way too much micromanagement - Office politics are a main reason for many decisions that are made. - They don't listen to their employees - They insist on forcing a new process on all employees every few months thinking it will fix problems, but they just make things worse. - They can't seem to see that they are the biggest problem with A&P. They need to have more trust in their employees. - After acquiring Collective Medical (which I worked for during the acquisition and was a very profitable company with a single product), slowly, but surely, PCC started pushing their own long employed managers into the collective medical product. The more they did this and the more changes that they made, the more unprofitable the product became. Rather than recognizing that their changes were what caused the issues, they doubled down on her changes. This got even worse and the same cycle ensued over and over again. Now, the product is no longer profitable (according to the last all hands i attended) and they can't seem to figure out why. The ego of upper management is consistently their own downfall. - Ever since the current CEO took over, more and more often, profit seems to be prioritized over doing what is best for patients. - Very good stock options used to be available to most of engineers. That was recently removed and it is now only available to upper management. - Yearly bonuses are no longer based on individual performance. Managers are forced to give low scoring performance reviews to at least 10% of their employees, regardless of actual performance. This means that if everyone performed really well in your team, at least one or more of you still won't get your bonus or a good review for the year. If managers don't adhere to this, they get in trouble. - Things have very much become a "fall in line it you're out" kind of culture.
