Pros

Insurance is decent and inexpensive, but only if you essentially give away all of your personal data in exchange for a lower rate. They pay for your phone and Internet.

Cons

Whew, where do I begin. Managers are incompetent and don't want to be bothered with training; when you start, they essentially send you a ton of links to company systems and expect you to just figure it out. As a seller, I had no idea what I was doing or what I was selling or what anything was 80% of the time, so I had to improvise and face the consequences later. Anytime I had an urgent issue with a campaign or client, Managers were always slow to respond or just wouldn’t respond, period. Unless a sale was involved, they didn’t want to be bothered. And campaigns ALWAYS had issues because either we were told to sell the wrong strategies and campaigns severely underdelivered, or clients eventually found out how ridiculously expensive our CPMs were versus the competition. It never failed, 1 of the 2 scenarios always happened. Campaign fulfillment is offshore and horrendous; campaigns typically do not fulfill contracted impressions and they use outside vendors for EVERYTHING. I typically did their job for them. If you are serious about digital marketing and digital sales, stay FAR away from this company. They just repackage other companies' products as their own and sell it at a premium, all while leaving you on an island and making you figure everything out on your own.

Pros

get to meet people, days go fast

Cons

my manager was not supportive at all, I would ask for help and he would say he is busy. If you did anything even slightly different then how he would, it was wrong. You couldn't have a conversation with him without him getting upset or him taking it as an argument. A manager can really suck the life out of you and this guy did that. Short-tempered, un-professional, and arrogant are not good qualities for a manager

Pros

Nice colleagues in the office. Very good training and resources. Lower-level management cares.

Cons

Most of these good reviews for Salem come from people who 1: Don't work in the sales arena and 2: Have been here for many years and are too brainwashed to see the truth. Salem is not great for people who want to work in a modern, "future-forward" company. They are stuck in the past, big time. Lower-level management is also fearful of upper-level management, who continue to run the company like a dictatorship. This company is especially not great for young professionals who want to grow their career. Once you're a media strategist, you stay a media strategist, as there is absolutely no room for growth into a new position or department of interest. Salem wants to be a "premier digital agency" so badly, it's actually laughable. They're way too late to the game as competition is fierce and Salem doesn't invest in their people enough to even care about putting their name out there. All digital campaigns are outsourced to third parties, so they are very expensive for clients and don't work as well compared to more established competitors. Plus their radio stations are dying fast. It's hard to believe in what you're selling here. Long story short: save your time and effort and look elsewhere. Yes, the hiring process is a breeze, but it's because they are very desperate for more sellers because the turnover rate is so high.
