Pros

It's a good job to have if you're just getting started in the city since it's very low-stakes. Not a lot of responsibilities and, since the managers treat you like children, there's not a lot of pressure or repercussions when your account is not doing well.

Cons

The job is horrifically monotonous. And there is not job security since the paranoid CEO likes to fire employees at random — no matter what job title they hold (low to high, no one is safe from him.) The CEO is a paranoid person who views and treats all of the employees like mischievous children and micromanages every level of the company. (no matter what age, position or level of experience they have.) The company is extremely disorganized and unstable — they have been promising their employees that they will be moving to a building better suited to the company's size "this year." They've made that promise twice a year every year for the past 3 or more years. It's also disconcerting to overhear the CEO of your company asking the IT guys how to do simple things like delete a sentence in Microsoft Word — doesn't make me feel like this company has a viable future. The aforementioned executive is not a very good people person, so he has his partner do the public speaking at company meetings, especially when a rash decision or a random mass firing has occurred. It speaks about your own leadership when you're not even comfortable defending your own decisions. And, if you're being abused or not being supported by your clients, the management will NEVER have your back. They will never choose to help their employees over their customers.

You are a telemarketer

Pros

I think that the biggest pro of this job / company is that it will make you realize "Where did I go wrong and how did I end up here?" The managers are nice and really do seem to care about you. I liked mine and felt like he was always there for me if I had any issues outside of work. I am 90% sure half of these positive reviews are from upper management on here. One of the main reasons that I took this job was because of the overwhelming positive reviews on Glassdoor, however, after working here I can assure you that those are not coming from actual BDRs.

Cons

First and foremost, don't let the title of this position fool you. You are a telemarketer. You will be cold-calling people nonstop for 8 and a half hours trying to set meetings for your client. My biggest gripe is the serious lack of professionalism in this office. Coworkers will come to work wearing sweatpants, constantly swearing and screaming in the background while you're trying to make calls. It's a very "bro-ey" culture. If you loved high school or were in a fraternity in college, or feel that you peaked in college, this will be the perfect job for you. They'll try to entice you with the ping pong table and once per week catered lunches when you come in for an interview. Don't let this fool you, that's standard of any company in 2019. Every other week there is a "Beer30", where starting at 3:30 you are allowed to have a beer and socialize and screw around. This is required and you are not allowed to leave early instead. CEO lurks around but has never introduced himself. Don't even get me started on the lack of room and the bathroom situation. There are better positions at better companies for you out there. Do not believe the positive reviews as they are either from management directly trying to balance out the negative reviews, or from new employees that are coerced into writing one. This office puts on a professional front that is essentially nonexistent. They will hire anyone off of the streets.

Thank you for your review. With over 100 people hired away by SEG's partnering clients we can reassure you that the reviews come directly from the BDR's. We know that management, BDR's and SEG's clients care deeply about the success for each person. That is why so many people have been successful and hired away by Sales Empowerment Group's partnering clients. Thanks

Pros

Sales University Group provides a flexible yet structured and supportive environment that will harness all your strengths and help you to discover new ones. Everyone is friendly and supportive and goes out their to make you feel welcome. SUG does a great job of matching you with the perfect client. I came from a background in social media, non profit work and data analysis. This is the first time I feel like all my talents are being utilized.

Cons

The company is expanding ( which is a good thing) so the office can feel a little cramped at times.

Thank you so much for your feedback, and please forgive my tardiness in replying. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoy working with us and you feel as though your talents have been put to good use and you're thriving with your client! You're right we are expanding and that's great - we do get a bit low on space from time to time. Good news! We're looking for more space - so hopefully we'll overcome our space challenge soon. Thanks again for the feedback!
