Pros

Work life balance but diminishing.

Cons

-Low pay. -Waist time on monthly report out meetings. -The bonus structure is insane and waste many working hours on useless goals. A bonus should be a bonus for a job well done and not jumping through useless hoops that make it more difficult to do your job. -No accountability for Sr. Leadership. Many mistakes have been made in the past 5 years with no accountability. -Taking away benefits that used to make Sammons unique. -No longer employee friendly

Pros

ESOP - although it's considered "free money" after a 3 year period- expect to make little money and be worked to the ground. Look for a job that'll pay you what you deserve. Your ESOP won't hit a considerable amount until you've put in at least a 10 year tenure. If you can last that long.

Cons

Working at Sammons Financial has been one of the most disappointing job experiences I’ve ever had. Employees are consistently undervalued, overworked, and underpaid. Management operates with no real regulations or consistency—it’s entirely dependent on how they’re “feeling” that week. The hot-and-cold mentality is exhausting and creates a very unstable and draining environment. HR is not there to support employees in any meaningful way. Their only real function seems to be hiring and firing; if you bring forward a concern or need assistance, don’t expect any help. The workplace culture is toxic, with bullying and constant setups for failure no matter how hard you work. It’s a hostile environment that wears people down quickly. To make matters worse, the attendance policy was recently changed in a way that is especially punishing for families with young children. Employees now lose points for being sick, which shows how little the company values health, family, or work-life balance. Overall, Sammons Financial is not a supportive or fair place to work. The lack of accountability, poor leadership, and disregard for employees makes this a company I would not recommend to anyone.

Pros

The people you work with are great, they have fun meetings and half days on fridays(after working 10hr shifts all week) but those are the only pros. other departments might be good but this is the worst.

Cons

WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. Management changed at the beginning of the year which made MICROMANAGING 10x WORSE, all they care about is numbers, and stats. you only get 8 MINUTES of personal time a day during a 10 hour shift. and only 4 minutes on Fridays. They make it seem like it’s a great work balance even though you work 10 hours mon-thurs and still have to work 5 hours on friday. You can’t call out MORE THAN 6 TIMES a year and your points will stay on your profile for 360 days, so if you have a family emergency or if you’re sick..OH WELL, they don’t care and will give you points that make it impossible to come off your record which disadvantages you from growing in the company. if you call out in january your point won’t fall off until next year in january. The pay is also not enough to live in THIS ECONOMY, and they will only give you a $1-$3 raise each year which is PATHETIC. the benefits are okay. they has a stock program but it barely grows, they say you get bonuses & annual raises but the bonuses are only $300-500 once a year after taxes and the annual raises are trash. you only get pto based on how long you work there where people who work there 5+ years get way more hours than even though yall do the same work. It is so hard to move up in the company which is why people quit every few months and they’re always hiring new people. You don’t have no room to breathe, The job is only good for the first few months after that reality kicks in and you realize you’re wasting your time. Go learn skills or get certificates to get a better paying job that appreciates you.
