Pros

Stryker has one of the best working atmospheres I have ever been a part of. They know how to hire the right people and the people mesh together easily and well. They understand innovation and are great at identifying upcoming medical technology to help them continue to grow on a positive direction every year. Unlimited growth potential within any of its divisions once you are in.

Cons

Competitive to get into and the entry level positions can be tough. Attracts a lot of people who are competitive and sales oriented which is great to a point. Also due to the quick nature of the business, many people are trained "trial by fire" style which can be stressful. Finally with the competitive nature comes a lot of people who work outside normal hours for better or for worse.

Pros

This company has an unsurpassed culture. Very inclusive and has a wonderful work-life balance. This is a workplace where your efforts and strengths are celebrated. Leadership has great direction and very approachable. Stryker hires those with drive to do the very best and work off of unique strengths and talents. With that being said, I believe the Stryker hiring process is a very sufficient method that results in certain criteria and mentality. Overall as an employee your contributions count and hard work does not go unnoticed. I am fulfilled in my position and am given ample opportunity for growth. From the top down, the typical Stryker employee is driven to deliver quality. My spouse and I both work for the company and love working here!

Cons

If you are not a learner by nature, I believe it would be difficult to work here. As a new employee you are not spoon fed information, you must seek out the opportunities to learn. This is not for everyone so if you don't have the "learner" trait or aren't proactive/self-starter, you may have difficulty adjusting.

Pros

The people! Health Benefits Value the company brings to its customers Spirit of innovation Focus on Engagement (but actual focus - not just talk about it) I've never felt so at home at a job before. The Strengths based approach to hiring and development makes for a fun results driven workplace. The teams that lead and drive this business forward are some of the best I've seen.

Cons

Not much to say about cons :-) I have been with the company for 3 years and have had amazing opportunities to learn and grow. At times the focus on results can be daunting but once you realize that you have a team around you that can and does help you get through it.
