As part of our 23andMe+ Membership, we released a new report powered by 23andMe research on fibromyalgia, a condition characterized by chronic pain and tenderness throughout the body. The cause is not well understood, but scientists think that people with the condition may be more sensitive to pain due to processing differences in the nervous system, especially in the brain and spinal cord. And because of its symptoms like chronic pain, fatigue and trouble thinking, fibromyalgia can also impact mental health. Members can access the report to learn more about their genetic likelihood of developing this condition.
