We just released a new report powered by 23andMe research on anxiety as part of our 23andMe+ Membership. Many people experience anxiety in response to stressful situations but some people can develop anxiety disorders, where their anxiety is overwhelming, doesn't go away and interferes with daily life. Members can access the report to learn more about their genetic likelihood of developing these disorders.
Since Lemonaid Health is now a part of 23andMe, we’ve worked to integrate all employees into the #23andMeGenePool. So we’d like to begin highlighting the amazing work that the Lemonaid Health team is doing. Our first highlight is Carla Russo, MBA, RN, CHC, CCEP, who is responsible for making sure that our provider group and pharmacy are compliant with state and federal regulations. Before the acquisition, Carla was more focused on patient privacy, but has since shifted to operational compliance. When asked what her favorite part about working at 23andMe is, Carla said, “Being on the cutting edge of genetics-based health care.” Carla is also a member of the DEI Bookclub, which selects books to read about DEI topics and meets monthly to discuss them. “The selected books are incredibly thought provoking and it's been wonderful to hear so many different points of view,” Carla said. In addition to her work at 23andMe, Carla also volunteers with Zonta International, an organization that supports empowering women worldwide.
