As a general manager, Kordell emphasizes teamwork, communication and a strong work ethic as important attributes for success. "I'm not looking for the smartest people as far as tech specs, but people that enjoy working with customers and their peers," he said.
Throughout Payge’s 11-year journey from seasonal store employee to human resources business partner at a distribution center, she’s received strong support from her leaders. Now, she focuses on providing the same experience to the people around her. “I have had multiple leaders, either my direct leaders or leaders outside of my organization, that have advocated for me, that have empowered me to be successful and reach for my goals,” she said.
As part of Best Buy's Early Careers team, Monica recruits people to join our internship program. This gives her a front row seat to see young professionals start—and grow—their careers. “My days are full of seeing people in the hallways that I helped in some capacity to want to continue their journey with this company,” she said.
