Meet Alique Spells—Communications Intern and Filmmaking Camp Leader. Merging his experience in filmmaking and passion for working with youth, Alique and his peers launched a summer camp program aimed at teaching middle schoolers narrative filmmaking. Throughout the summer, Alique has educated Bronzeville students in the art of scriptwriting, acting, cinematography and video editing, with the mission to empower them to produce their own films. Alique has enjoyed working with his students because it has allowed him to empower them by cultivating the skills necessary to further pursue their passions, while also reigniting his own enthusiasm for the craft. Thank you for sharing with us, Alique! Read more about his experience below.

We had a wonderful time at last week’s FSP Chicago Intern Career Conference. Our interns had the opportunity to explore various career paths within the financial services sector through engaging panel discussions, attending professional development workshops, and networking with peers and leaders from across the industry. Thank you to the panelists, workshop leaders and FSP Chicago for this enriching event!
Our Pride Month Signature Event was a fantastic celebration of learning and community. Our Pride and Allies Employee Resource Group hosted an impactful session with keynote speaker Kim Clark, co-author of an Amazon #1 bestseller and owner of Kim Clark Communications, Inc. Our employees engaged in meaningful discussions and enjoyed a wonderful lunch together. Thank you to all who joined us and made this event truly special!
Today, our Culture Collective Engagement Team came together for a fantastic corporate citizenship opportunity at Torrence Place. This unique property received $720,000 through our Affordable Housing Program (AHP) in 2021 and now provides 48 units of affordable, rental housing to Veterans and individuals with disabilities. Our employees volunteered their time to garden and plant flowers and vegetables, creating a beautiful and welcoming space for residents. Activities like this strengthen our connection to the people we serve and we're grateful for the opportunity to come together as a team to uplift AHP projects in our communities. In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we recently hosted a special edition of our Conversations with Cedric series, where we were joined by several local AAPI leaders who discussed innovative housing and economic development strategies to support the communities we serve. Thurman, for leading this fantastic conversation, and a special thanks to our panelists Cleo Aquino, President of the Asian Real Estate Association of America - Greater Chicago Chapter, Jae Jin Pak, Coordinator of Community Education for University of Illinois Chicago's Institute on Disability and Human Development, Sangini Brahmbhatt, Director of Development for Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, and Grace Chan McKibben, Executive Director of Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community (CBCAC), for sharing your valuable insights.

Last week, our newly formed Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG) organized a Memorial Day display to provide education on the significance of the holiday. Alongside the display, members of the VERG passed out poppy flower pins, symbolizing sacrifice and courage as we honored the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country. We appreciate our VERG members for providing an opportunity to reflect and remember those who have served.
