Recently, Dave Feldhaus hosted a Diversity Digest session on the topic of night owls versus early birds. Dave’s session cited research suggests that genetics dictate our bodies’ internal clock that influences when we are most alert, creative and productive. Like all of the Diversity Digests, this is another example of how employees in a workplace can be different. He hopes this session can help others gain a better understanding and respect for these natural differences – including what times throughout the day work best for each of us. Siona Gupta shared her experience on the subject of cultural appropriation in today’s society and the gray area surrounding the topic. Siona believes it is important to educate ourselves on what can be considered insensitive to another person and identified ways that employees can respectfully and meaningfully appreciate other cultures.
