At Full Sail, we've taken a number of precautions to help keep our students, staff, and faculty safe amid the COVID-19 crisis. These actions allowed us to begin welcoming some students back to campus in July 2020, and more students have returned to campus in the time since. Currently, every Full Sail student enrolled in a campus degree program is now able to take part — safely — in campus educational opportunities.
Our very own Garry Jones appears on the list alongside other notable community members including Alex Martins (Orlando Magic), Bev Seay (UCF), Pamela Landwirth (Give Kids The World), Alex Leitao (CEO of Orlando City Soccer), and more. Garry was awarded under The Arts category. Out of 85 nominations across the region, only 11 individuals were selected.
Full Sail's faculty members work hard to bring real-world experiences to students, and these gospel collaborations are no exception. These professional collaborations have led to 15 Billboard #1 songs and albums, three Grammy nominations, and well over a dozen Stellar, Dove, and Billboard Music Awards.
This Music Production Project & Portfolio IV instructor brings decades of rock and roll experience to Full Sail's classrooms. Rick's years of professional experience performing and composing with major rock groups gives him an advantage when he's showing Music Production students how to achieve their artistic visions.
Grads have secured full-time roles and internships with organizations like Evil Geniuses, Esports Tower, and West Virginia Wesleyan College's esports program.
Official naming rights to the university’s esports arena, which will henceforth be known as the Full Sail University Orlando Health Fortress. As partners, Orlando Health and Full Sail University will collaborate on joint research projects focused on improving and understanding the performance factors for gamers. This research effort will include collaboration on a framework for the effective and ample care of esports athletes. In addition, Orlando Health and Full Sail University established a scholarship initiative which will award $50,000 in scholarship funds per year during the term of the multi-year relationship to qualifying Full Sail University students.
Rebecca Leis's years of research in human-computer interaction and psychology is helping her prepare Full Sail technology students for professional success.

We are proud to announce three of Full Sail’s Film Production MFA educators – Peter Gordon, Georg Hartmann, and Andrew Byrd – have all been invited to serve on the Grand Jury for the 2021 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. The New York Festivals TV & Film Awards honors content in all lengths and forms from over 50 countries. Embracing all aspects of the Television and Film industries, categories mirror today's global trends and encourage the next generation of storytellers by recognizing innovators across 14 categories.
