Melony Parker is proud of her Filipino heritage and humbled to serve as a flight nurse for the past nine years with the Hawaii Life Flight team. To Melony, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is an opportunity for her to share her culture, love and dedication with the community she serves. As early as she can remember, Melony dreamed of working in the medical field and cared for her community at Molokai General Hospital for almost a decade before joining the Hawaii Life Flight team. She doesn’t hesitate to answer the call to help others at a moment’s notice and looks to her faith for the wisdom, strength and knowledge to provide her patients’ the best possible care in their most difficult time of need. Melony’s experience as a flight nurse has given her independence and allowed her to grow as a clinician. She believes it’s the most amazing job and encourages those interested to pursue their passion for helping others. Thank you, Melony, for your compassion and dedication to caring for your community. #AAPIHeritageMonth
This month, we pay tribute to generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and who continue to play an influential role in its future success. We celebrate the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, especially in the EMS field. We value our AAPI team members and shine a light on their accomplishments across GMR. #AAPIHeritageMonth
Yesterday was National Therapy Animal Day, or as we like to call, GMR Therapy Dog Day. We are thankful to our four-legged team members for the support (and cuteness) they offer our teams!
