We're kicking off the year's Remarkable Leadership series by chatting with our SVP of Client Services Experience, Melissa Phillips 🎉 With 17 years at HealthEquity, a passion for problem solving, and a drive to score big wins for clients and members, it's no surprise that Melissa is a Remarkable Leader. 💜 "If our clients and members are winning, then so are we," Melissa shares. "I love solving problems and finding ways to improve to ultimately help us all jointly win."
Wellness is important to teammates, so it’s important to Team HQY. Every year, team members can earn rewards for completing holistic wellbeing challenges and receive Movement Money—a reimbursement of up to $240 for full-time team members to purchase fitness equipment or various health related memberships. In 2022 our teammates crushed it! 💜👏 Over 1,800 teammates participated in wellness activities and earned over $200,000 in incentives. Almost 1,400 teammates received Movement Money totaling more than $300,000. Those are feel-good numbers! But it feels even better to hear 78% of teammates said the wellness program encouraged them to improve their health. Like what you hear? Work with us! 2022 was a remarkable year for Purple teammates who love to make a difference in our communities coast-to-coast. Team HQY far exceeded the Purple with Purpose goals of 350 team members giving 3,200 volunteer hours. Check it out! As of December, 784 team members volunteered 4,338 hours in 2022! Thank you to every volunteer and every organization who welcomed our passionate Purple volunteers. We're grateful for opportunities to lift up people and causes where we live.
Give a round of applause to the latest Team HQY Purple Values Award winners: Angie Cheatham, Crystal Walles, Hannah Kohlts, and Lucinda Lopez. Each of them went above and beyond in living the core values of HealthEquity—do the right thing, be remarkable, make a difference, and celebrate people. Thank you for contributing to our remarkable Purple culture!
Step right up to read about Remarkable Leader, Jason Harburger, VP of Sales Strategy, who brings the funk with his love of dance. Visit for the dance photos and stay to get his solid career advice and his favorite part of helping clients and members reach their goals. In Jason's words: At HealthEquity, we serve clients that employ 1 in 7 Americans. When a friend or relative says, “Oh! I have HeathEquity, it’s great, thank you!” it reminds me of the importance of our work. My response is always “Thanks! What can we do to better serve you?”
Team HQY is talented and passionate about helping people. Thank you to our remarkable Purple culture teammates for being an essential part of the HealthEquity 20-year celebration. We're thankful for you. 💜 "I've been here at HealthEquity for 16 years now. I have to tell you that from day one, the secret to HealthEquity's success—of being remarkable—has always been our people." Brad Bennion
That's a wrap! The first round of HealthEquity's block party series has come to a successful end. In navigating the remote culture that we live in, HealthEquity wanted to provide an opportunity for team members to get some in-person interaction and build face-to-face community. We planned and sponsored events in seven different hub areas for our team members to gather, eat good food, share the experience of a local sporting event, and build our purple culture! We are so grateful for our incredible team members and thank them all for making these events a wonderful success. We're looking forward to our next series coming soon in 2023, where we'll make more memories, build more connections, and strengthen our community💜
Reflecting on Veterans Day and what it means to be a leader, read about Air Force veteran and SVP Operations, Charles Mills. He shares valuable advice on leading others and career growth, like "don't be afraid to take on stretch assignments." Charles, thank you for your service.
