IKEA U.S. is taking a step toward our goal of being a circular business by launching our first Buy Back & Resell program in the U.S. Through this service, we can extend the lives of gently used IKEA products and provide customers a more sustainable and easier life. IKEA Conshohocken is the first store in the U.S. to host the Buy Back & Resell pilot, but it won’t be the last – stay tuned for more information about Buy Back & Resell campaigns launching at select stores in the future!
We’re happy to announce the start of our Buy Back & Resell service pilot at IKEA Conshohocken! This limited time program will allow IKEA Family members to apply to sell their gently used IKEA products back to us in exchange for in-store credit
Hej! I’m Ceena Gopalakrishnan, a Development Manager on the IKEA U.S. Expansion team. Born and raised in Mumbai, I started my IKEA career in India. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work across geographies and lead diverse teams. While in India, I’ve seen IKEA come up with equal parental policy, a milestone for many employers in a country like India. I’ve had the opportunity to work with multiple leaders at IKEA, both men and women, who always put equality at the core of everything they do. They have challenged me to push my boundaries and helped me grow as a leader. For me, gender equality is having the ability to make our own decisions or choices, irrespective of the gender. While this may sound fundamental, I have seen that realities can be very different in many societies. As with many other things, equality begins at home, and as a mother of a 12-year-old boy, we make it a point to talk about the disparities that exist today and how all people can make a difference, together. #Equality #genderequality #teamIKEA
Happy Women’s Equality Day! Today we’re celebrating those who have fearlessly advocated and continue to advocate for a more gender equal future for the many. To all the trendsetters, trailblazers and more - thank you for taking the time to fight for women across the world.
We strive for a positive work environment that brings out the best in all of us! Our values are the foundation of our work and they help us to build a diverse, inclusive, open and honest work environment. Thank you, Forbes, for recognizing IKEA U.S. and our impact across Texas, Florida and Maryland.
Our vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. That’s why we bring together IKEA designers and women artisans to support communities tackling social challenges. Together, we use traditional handicraft techniques and materials to co-create limited edition products.
Hej! My name is Kori Thorstenson, and I’m the Market (Store) Manager at the IKEA Tempe store. I am a working mother of two young daughters, and my husband and I believe that equality begins at home. We are teaching our daughters that they are loved, strong and capable of anything they set their minds to. For me, equality means recognizing and embracing diversity. Gender equality not only means that opportunities should be available to everyone, but it means that everyone can have the chance to develop their potential and have a voice. I am inspired by all of the women leaders at IKEA who lead inclusively, and I am super proud to work for an organization that values diversity and equality at all levels. My advice to young women today is to believe in yourself, find a seat at the table and be a part of the solution. If you already have a seat at the table, support the younger generation of women by showing them the way and by becoming a mentor. Be a part of shaping a more equal future!
Hej! My name is Phil Wellington and I’m the Country People & Culture Manager at IKEA U.S. I recently had the pleasure of meeting with our Talent Acquisition leaders to discuss how our culture and values inform our decisions here at IKEA. As we prepare for the next fiscal year, I’m energized to continue strategizing with this great team and focus on the opportunities that the future will bring to our organization. Great talent is always at the heart of IKEA! 💙
