We are proud of the Methodist Digestive Institute team for leading a campus-wide collection of appreciation notes for our service members stationed overseas during the holidays. Hundreds of Methodist Dallas employees wrote more than 800 letters! We hope that these tokens of appreciation remind our troops that they're always in our hearts!
Nearly 70 children found gifts under the tree this year thanks to employees at Methodist Midlothian. They collected toys for the Angel Tree at Cherished Impressions in Waxahachie. We love giving back to the communities we serve — especially this time of year!
Methodist Mansfield's nursing teams and hospital councils decorated and auctioned off tabletop Christmas trees to raise money for the Nurses Honor Guard. The trees were adorned with all kinds of ornaments, and the silent auction raised more than $2,000. The tree that brought the highest bids? The Paw Patrol tree by the Nurse Practice Council. How doggone creative!
Talk about an epic love story! These two have been married 52 years, so we're not surprised that they're the perfect match. One week before Thanksgiving, Liz Joe donated a kidney to her husband, Harry, at Methodist Dallas. The transplant was a success, and Harry says he's feeling better than ever after decades of diabetes led to kidney failure. The lovebirds were extra thankful to be home for Thanksgiving.
More than 100 transplant patients showed up for the drive-thru holiday party at Methodist Dallas! These survivors gave thanks for their organ donors and for the medical teams who "brought them back to life." We give thanks for them!
Our new hospital, Methodist Midlothian, is celebrating another first. These two handsome little guys, Ricky and Kingston Ayers, are the first twins born at the hospital. Congratulations to their parents, Rick and Shirley, who clearly have their hands full!
You know it's a good day when there's a free concert on your front lawn! That's what happened recently when the Dallas Symphony Orchestra came to Methodist Dallas with The Concert Truck to play for our healthcare heroes. Thank you for the beautiful music!

David Nguyen is one of the veterans we're proud to honor for this coming Veterans Day. He is a nurse in the resource department of Methodist Dallas. He's also a captain and officer in charge of the intermediate care ward in the U.S. Army. He was attracted to Methodist by our great reputation and community involvement. What's more, working for a Military Friendly® employer means a lot. "I wouldn't be able to fulfill my military or family obligations without Methodist support," he says.
When the pandemic hit North Texas last year, Methodist went into high gear caring not only for patients but for our staff as well. Our pastoral services, wellness, and social work teams joined hands to give employees the emotional and spiritual care they needed. Vice President of Pastoral Services The Rev. Caesar Rentie reflects back on that time with admiration for how Methodist has lived out its mission to the community and each other. Methodist cares, and in times like these, that means everything.
