NIKE, Inc.’s culture of giving encourages its employees to support the causes that matter most to them in their communities. And no one knows their communities better than our store teams across Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse. “I love being part of a company that focuses on giving back to local communities as part of its business philosophy,” says George Camany, a store manager at the Converse Factory Store in Gilroy, California. “When we talk about Converse, we’re serving the creative community. At our store, we’re serving the community of Gilroy. It’s easy to say, but it’s harder to walk the walk. The Give Your Best program helps us put our money where our mouth is, and at the same time, we’re able to build up our communities through service.” Hear more from George about how he gives back to his local community.
Last Friday marked the opening of Jordan Brand’s new World of Flight store in Milan, thanks to Kate Maher (she/her), Senior Director of Jordan Stores & Services, and a team of passionate employees. In her role, Maher focuses on how the Jordan Brand shows up in both Jordan and Nike stores, including product, content and experience. “I grew up in Ireland in a small fishing village, and I found myself playing professional basketball all over the world,” says Maher, who specializes in architecture and retail design. “I joined Jordan Brand during the pandemic and was so excited to finally go on campus when it reopened. It’s been anything but boring. This opportunity we have is unique and doesn’t come around that often. We have a great team, and I feel like we’ve really rolled up our sleeves to just figure things out. It’s been challenging but rewarding at the same time!” You could be a part of that too. What’s better than watching the World Cup semis at work? Catching the match alongside star Megan Rapinoe at Nike World Headquarters. “Global Football is such an incredible sport, in no small part because of its power to connect the world,” says Greg Riffenburgh, Senior Product Information Manager. “Our watch parties at Nike are always so fun — it's a chance to celebrate all the hard work we did to show up well on the global stage and a unique opportunity to enjoy incredible sport moments together during the workday. It’s even more amazing when Megan Rapinoe comes by to watch with us." You could be a part of it too!
For Nike employees, the Give Your Best program is a way to support their favorite nonprofits through their financial giving and their volunteering — all across the world. Candy Zhang answered her call to give back through Greater China’s Jordan Wings Program, mentoring high-achieving students who have aspirations of attending university. The Sr. Manager of Value Marketplace Merchandising believes that her encouragement is one of the greatest gifts she can give, especially to young people. As a mentor through Jordan Wings, she’s able to walk alongside students from rural parts of China to pursue their dreams in both academics and in sport. Even a small encouragement, she's found, can make all the difference in a student’s life. Hear more about why Candy feels compelled to volunteer for Jordan Wings below!

When you work on a footwear team at Nike, sky’s the limit for the sneakers you can dream up, the ways you can take action to create a better world and the icons you get to collaborate with. Our latest example, timed to the 40th anniversary of the classic AF1: the Billie Eilish’s AF1 Low. “When designing with Nike and the footwear team, I loved learning new techniques and ways to create new interpretations of Nike classics through intentional recycling measures," Eilish says. "For example: for the AF1 Low, we pulled from our previous collaboration, the AF1 High, and reused the synthetic nubuck to create a patchwork mosaic.” Click the link to find out more about the Nike x Billie Eilish AF1 Low!
