Peabody Properties and Common Ground Development Corp. (CGDC) hosted a special ribbon-cutting event for Tavernier Place, featuring 31 one-bedroom affordable rentals for seniors aged 62+ and individuals with disabilities. Tavernier Place offers 31 one-bedroom, one-bath apartments for individuals aged 62+ and non-elderly disabled residents. Eight units are for households earning 30% or less of the area median income (AMI), while 23 units are for households earning 60% or less of the AMI. Amenities include an exercise room, community room, outdoor bicycle racks, on-site management, extra storage space, a lobby area with a screened-in porch, and two elevators. Peabody Properties provides comprehensive services for our elderly population. Grateful to the development team: Common Ground Development Corp. (developer), Maugel DeStefano Architects Inc. (architect), Dellbrook JKS(construction), and Peabody Properties, Inc. (property management). Tavernier Place pays tribute to Acton resident Nancy Tavernier, a champion for affordable housing. Funding support from Massachusetts Housing Partnership, DHCD, CEDAC, Eastern Bank, MassHousing, RBC Capital Markets, and Acton Community Housing Corporation. Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility! This day is a time to celebrate the lives and contributions of members of the trans community while also recognizing the daily inequities and discrimination the collective faces. March 31 has been a day of acknowledgment since 2010, when trans advocate Rachel Crandall noticed that many of the stories covered on trans people were focused on violence. Earlier today, we held our first annual “A Woman’s Impact” virtual panel in honor of Women’s History Month. This soon-to-be annual event was an awe-inspiring learning opportunity showcasing a different side of the women who help to lead Peabody daily. While highlighting women's sustained impact across all levels of our organization, the panel was an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the experiences of our female leaders who have been instrumental in the well-being and growth of our organization. Recently, residents at Borden Place were invited to a "bagged dinner" with a phenomenal DJ, DJ Cici. They had a fantastic time dancing and mingling, and one of our residents came down to celebrate her 97th birthday! The residents say they can't wait for the next one! #WeArePeabody #DancingAtBorden
