We're pleased to announce that U.S. News & World Report, a global authority in rankings and consumer advice, recently named RLI to its inaugural U.S. News Best Insurance Companies to Work For list.
It's a great honor to be named to the 2023 Elite 50 Internships list by RISE (Rising Insurance Star Executives) for three consecutive years. The RISE Elite 50 Internships is an annual program that identifies and publishes a list of the 50 best internship programs in the Insurance industry across the USA. "The internship program at RLI has consistently been recognized as one of the best in the industry because it exposes participants to challenging assignments that allow them to gain real world experience. Interns have the opportunity to work with some of the most outstanding professionals in the industry and interact directly with senior leadership members," said Hank Stickelmaier, Manager, Talent Acquisition. "It is an honor for RLI to be included among the Elite 50 Internships of RISE for the third consecutive year."
We are proud to be a partner with the United Way, because making a difference works! Another successful United Way campaign is in the books and once again our employee-owners went above and beyond to make an impact in our communities. Our campaign this year was The ABCs of Giving. It focused on how the United Way and its partner agencies support three important building blocks of life - health, financial stability and education - for the underserved in our communities - and how we can help. At RLI, we believe in being involved in and supporting the communities where we live and work.
We're honored to have been named to Ward's 50 Top Performing Insurance Companies List for the 33rd consecutive year.

On May 8, 1987, RLI joined the most influential and dynamic corporations in the nation by listing and trading for the first time on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Members of the RLI board of directors and executive team, including RLI Founder Jerry Stephens and Jon Michael, Chairman, RLI Board of Directors and Retired CEO, gathered to ring the opening bell of the NYSE to commemorate the occasion. On that day, RLI listed 6.5 million shares of common stock at an opening price of $2.52 per share on a split adjusted basis. By 1990, RLI was a top performer of all property and casualty stocks on the NYSE - a designation that holds true today. The company has grown significantly since that time, transitioning from a monoline contact lens insurer with an emerging specialty property and casualty business, to a diversified, specialty insurer.
Innovation has been a part of RLI since the very beginning. Our founder, Jerry Stephens, recognized how expensive it was to replace contact lenses, so he founded RLI — Replacement Lens, Inc. RLI was one of the first insurers of contact lenses. We continue to foster an entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to innovation every day as we evolve and diversify our products to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. 💡✨
