In Nashville, you can’t escape the sounds of country music—and what’s country music without line dancing? After an especially busy day, our Nashville office employees brought Broadway Street to SSOE when they ditched the business attire, put on their cowboy boots, and worked on their line dancing skills. We’re not experts yet, but we’re ready for a honky-tonk, boot-scootin’ field trip to the Wildhorse Saloon! #SSOEsoutheast #chooseSSOE
On Monday, AIA Toledo hosted its first annual World Architecture Day with keynote speakers, educational outreach, and a project tour. SSOE has a long history with AIA Toledo—in fact, our own Heather Judge is President of the AIA Toledo Board of Directors, with SSOE’s Bob Siebenaller and David Johnson serving as members of the board. One event highlight was keynote speaker Dr. Kamel Mahadin, a renowned architect, landscape architect, professor, author, former Chief Commissioner of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), and Jordanian senator at The House of Senate from 2014 to 2016. #WorldArchitectureDay
Shovel ready! SSOE’s Bill Clark joined our client YKK AP Inc. for their groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week in Macon, Georgia. Emergency preparedness, check! Our Portland office recently held after-hours CPR / AED classes on-site for employees. In September, SSOE covered the cost of training for employees at several office locations across the U.S. and will kick off additional classes in October. Our safety-always culture encourages safe behaviors whether employees are at work or off the clock. Part of that is empowering employees with safety training to help minimize the chance of accidents, which can happen anywhere and anytime. #chooseSSOE
Ice cream socials don’t stop once you’re out of school, at least not when you work at SSOE! Last week, Executive Vice President Matt Oberts brought his old-fashioned hand churners to our headquarters in Toledo to celebrate his birthday. Several employees helped churn homemade cookies and cream and vanilla chocolate chip ice cream. This has become a time-honored tradition that Matt began in 2010. This year, we used 29 pounds of ice to make 10 quarts of ice cream for all to enjoy. #chooseSSOE #workperks
