We’ve spent Pride Month reflecting on the important roles of LGBTQ+ people and celebrating those who have been trailblazers in our industry. Because we believe inclusion must start at the top, we opened the month with a message from our CEO, and today we highlight Jim Fitterling, Chairman and CEO of Dow who is also a mechanical engineer by education. Jim is one of the few openly gay CEOs of a Fortune 500 company. He was recently interviewed for this Catalyst article on how coming out made him a more inclusive leader as well as the importance of empowering employees to bring their whole selves to work. In honor of Pride Month, SSOE has also made a financial contribution to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth. #PrideMonth
