SSOE recently provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the renovation and expansion of the Propst Arena. Construction will begin this month on the refresh of back-of-house support areas for the 8,000-seat multi-tiered arena that includes 4,800 SF of new construction and 8,200 SF of renovation. Centrally located in the heart of historic Downtown Huntsville, the Propst Arena sits in the Von Braun Center, the city’s largest comprehensive event space for large-scale conventions, concerts, and sporting events (including home games for the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Huntsville Havoc). SSOE partnered with Matheny Goldmon Architecture Interiors, Engineers Mullins, and PEC Structural Engineering on this exciting project awarded to Highland Group. #SSOEsoutheast

SSOE Project Manager Alyson Dinca, who serves as President of the Construction Specifications Institute’s Huntsville Chapter, helped coordinate the association’s recent $3,000 donation to the Food Bank of North Alabama. Every dollar donated is equivalent to seven meals, which means CSI Huntsville’s donation will result in 21,000 meals for families in the community. A member of CSI Huntsville for close to five years, Alyson has played a critical role within the association that is dedicated to improving the documentation, management, and communication of building information used by the construction community—and, as demonstrated with this generous donation, dedicated to supporting the Huntsville community at large. #SSOEsoutheast
