With the end of October comes the close of another successful Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Last month, SSOE’s Mark LaBell participated in a webinar panel discussing Cintoo Cloud—a cloud-based reality data management and collaboration platform—during the Virtual SPAR 3D Expo and Conference. You say tomato, we say savings. Our friends at E.C. Nelson Inc. put together this video showcasing a project we recently partnered on for a leading food client. SSOE provided owner’s representation and project management services for the implementation of advanced optical sorting and processing of tomatoes. This was a critical project for our client to meet tomato fresh-pack timing that would provide substantial operational savings after implementation with a very quick payback. We managed to deliver this successful vertical start-up both on time and under budget, returning more than $3.2 million in documented project savings to our client. #ValuePromise
A community that steps up to the plate. This past weekend, CEO Vince DiPofi came out to Brentwood Park in Northwood, Ohio to show appreciation for the trade workers supporting the Miracle League of Northwest Ohio project. SSOE provided pro bono engineering services to support upgrades the nonprofit needed for their field, including resurfacing their 22,000 SF field and the addition of a two-story handicap accessible restroom / concession facility. Together with community partners and local union workers who have donated their time, materials, and more, we’re excited to see this home run of a project near completion. #SSOEcares

Lean forward: Next week is the SSOE-sponsored LCI Congress, which is in a virtual format this year. Through an array of educational sessions, our attendees will gather insight on how to improve efficiency, combat roadblocks, and overcome industry challenges to bring additional value to our clients’ projects. A corporate member of the Lean Construction Institute since 2015, we look forward to this week-long event that brings together owners, trade partners, members of the design community, general contractors, and more to share their Lean experiences.
Today, Toledo Public Schools welcomed students in grades preschool through second back for in-school learning, with students in grades third through twelfth returning in two weeks. To help prepare and protect the students in our community, Corporate Safety Manager Scott Goodwin dropped off SSOE’s donation of 10,000 masks this morning. #SSOEcares #InThisTogether
A winning partnership: Our client, Owens Community College, recently received the Excellence in Workforce Development Award from the Ohio Economic Development Association for their Dana Advanced Manufacturing Training Center.
